Hey guys,
So today, as a means of marking off another book from what seems to be an unending pile, I finished a book called The U.S. Mint. It was very educational and a good reminder of how American history and the country's coinage is "permanently intertwined." It covered facts dating from the first Mint all the way to the Gold Standard Act passed by Congress in 1900.
If you've ever seen those tiny P's or D's on a quarter and wondered what they are, I would recommend doing some research on the U.S. Mint. There is a reason they are there. So next time you have some change jingle in your pocket, think twice about how it got there and what it represents. As an American, there is nothing better for a nation than to have truly educated citizens.
In the mean time,
Have a coke
